Meet Dr. Amber Spencer
Hello! I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing comprehensive, trauma-informed, and inclusive mental health care. I am a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner with training from Pacific Lutheran University and Johns Hopkins University. I bring 10 years of experience working in a variety of healthcare settings. I use a patient-centered collaborative approach to treatment and recognize that health is a complex system shaped by people’s environments, family systems, genetics, and lived experiences.
My Story
After graduating from Johns Hopkins University in 2013 I began my nursing career in Baltimore, MD working in an inner-city Emergency Department. Throughout my career in emergency medicine, I witnessed firsthand the lack of mental health resources which inspired me to advance my education and become a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

In my career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I have experience working in community mental health in an outreach capacity with some of the most complex populations. I am passionate about providing mental health care for populations who are marginalized and as a result, suffer worse health outcomes. My mission is to close the gap of mental health disparities within our community and provide compassionate and empathetic care.
